IMMERSION BATH METHOD: COLD, HOT, NEUTRAL IMMERSION BATH


Immersion bath is one of the widely used hydrotherapy treatments. This type of bath is done in a bathtub connected to hot and cold water connections.

COLD SOAKING BATH

The cold soaking bath is given at a temperature of 10 º C to 23.8 º C for about 20 minutes. Before this bath, the patient’s body is applied, including the head. Apply a cold pack containing a damp cloth or towel. His body is rubbed very well when taking a bath. After this bath, he must immediately dry and be wrapped in a wool blanket.

Do not give cold soaking baths to very young or old people. It does not occur in enteritis, gastritis, inflammation of the uterus, or ovaries.

HOT IMMERSION BUS

The hot soaking bath is given at a temperature of 37 º C and is gradually raised to 40 º C by adding boiling water. Before taking this bath, the patient must drink cold water to cool his body. Cold compression is done during the entire treatment.

Hot immersion baths are useful for the dripping and accumulation of fluids in the body. It also relieves pediatric, bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, and pulmonary congestion. The bath stops when the skin turns red. For chronic bronchitis, it is taken after a bath for about 5-10 minutes with rubbing and rubbing. Oil is applied to the patient’s skin as needed. It is beneficial in chronic rheumatism, gallbladder stones and urinary stones.

Hot soaking baths have not been given for brain and spinal cord disorders, cardiac hypertrophy and weakness of the heart.

NEUTRAL IMMERSION BUS

The neutral immersion bath is given at a temperature of 26º C to 28º C, and the normal body temperature is about 1 hour. It activates skin and kidney disease as it acts as a sedative. It is useful for diseases of the brain, spinal cord, meningitis, arthritis, and rheumatism.

Neutral immersion baths are useful in reducing heart, kidney and general, alcoholism, chronic polyneuritis, chronic, diarrhea, peritonitis and chronic diseases of the abdomen. Avoid skin disorders such as eczema and heart disease.
